Here's hoping that the Easter Bunny visits you too, next weekend! Not sure about this tradition really, as a child we were always told the story of the bells of Rome flying over the garden and dropping eggs into the garden... yes really!Golfing this weekend at Burhill is complicated: on Good Friday there is the 4-man tournament (year 5(?) for Briscoe/Jelfs/Blundell/Lawrence - we came very close one year!), on Saturday, there the Hospital Cup and on Easter Monday afternoon, there is a mixed tournament.
The JLC clock is really ticking now: Colin is playing well, Adrian is polishing the cup itself and Rolf is partying in California... enjoy!
So who fancies a game and when?
Martin
ReplyDeleteThanks for update! Very complicated! Why a ? for friday?
I can play anytime friday, saturday , bust must be finished by 1.30pm.
Away all day sunday( but could do 9 holes am!). Monday , planning to go to see my mother, but could do this friday (possibly - as i'm on call, but monday preferable). Obviously, lot depends on whom is playing on friday

Dear Billy,

Thought you might be interested in a ruling we had yesterday from Pip: if you find what you think is your ball in a hazard and you play it without checking, then you have played the wrong ball, and you have a 2 stroke penalty to cope with. That is, before you play a ball, even in a hazard (unless it is moving in water), you are allowed to lift the ball, rotate it for identification purposes only. You should then replace it as it previously lay, all with no penalty.
ReplyDeleteThis is a change in the Rules since 2008: before that, you were not allowed to touch your ball in the hazard and were NOT penalized for playing a wrong ball.
All this meant that my interpretation was out of date...
