sudden death of qualifying competitions

I do not know if it was my failing eyesight... but I spotted only two Stablefords (and no medal at all!) between now and the end of September (one on 25 July and one on 12 September). It looks like people are increasingly expected to do their own qualifying rounds if they want to avoid being put on the naughty step and loose their official handicap at the end of the year?!
