It's a depressing fact: the nights are palpably longer, the temperatures cooler, the chestnut leaves have started to turn...
...all of which means that it is essential that every opportunity is grasped to enjoy the excellent course conditions and appreciate the chance of playing golf in fewer than three layers of clothing.
Some of the September golf on offer at the Club is as follows:
Sat 1st - Marler Bowl
Sun 2nd - Lewis Kent Foursomes
Sat 15th - Super Twilight
All other plans to be made here...

Hello? ...I have just come back from holidays to see this blog completely empty. Are people off golf these days or are arrangements being made in other places?
ReplyDeleteI would be interested in a round of golf this weekend to catch up on things with the buddies.
Regards,
Rolf
Welcome back Rolf! Hope that you have returned from Spain fit and well.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend is the Autumn Meeting at the club. Colin and I are playing in the medal on Saturday and last time that I looked there were still places available. Weather should be ok which is a blessing.
Sunday it here is a Foursones competition for which I am also signed. Up.

If that's the case, could play at 2 pm on Saturday , or sunday pm but not till 2 pm
Rolf - I'm going to give my back a rest this week so I won't be about for golf at the weekend, I'm afraid. I've got an appointment with a Chiropractor next week, so if I'm not in a wheelchair, I should be able to play the weekend after! Cheers
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see this yet - looks like we gave some folk a good name for a promotion!

I hope I win the Jamie Lee Curtis Cup one day! J
Has she got our permission to use our name?
DeleteProbably not playing this weekend - off to Menorca for a week on Sunday. Played 9 with Stuart today - golf course was great, golf was not.
ReplyDeleteThanks chaps! Meanwhile Benedict has kindly agreed to play a round of golf with his old dad this weekend. Since he has to go in to work on Sat, we can only play Sun a.m.
ReplyDeleteOn a different note, Sophie arrived back safely from Costa Rica yesterday, where she escaped a 7.9 (Richter scale) earthquake, which happened two hours before her departure on Wednesday (more details to follow on her blog), and the Scholl family will be in a celebratory mood, as we have all three children back with us for the first time in many months.
Hoping to see you all again at Burhill next weekend.
Regards,
Rolf
Off to Burhill now. Any company welcome...
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your family back safely, Rolf. We too able to welcome back the sun'n'air from a three week jolly in Mexico. He cam home with a scruffy beard, some awesome pictures of swimming with a pod of 100 whale sharks and an awesome bottle of tequila for me.
ReplyDeleteAs far as next weekend is concerned - anyone interested in playing on Saturday morning? Let me know so that I can work out if I have to make alternative arrangements.
Happy to play next Sat a.m.
ReplyDeleteGreat trip, Mexico. A bit violent these days, I presume. Did A.J. come across many people with Kalashnikovs? And did he get to see the Yukatan ruins?
Good news Rolf. How does a 1000 start sound?
