August Golf

For those who can drag themselves away from the Olympics-dominated screens, there are a couple of local golf courses in top condition as the recent sunshine turns the greens and fairways into something special.

Some tournament dates for your diaries:

1. Aug 5th - both courses are taken up with an Olympics themed team event (I am playing with AJ + 2 of my brothers) - still places for pairs with a "sumptuous lunch" to follow.

2. Aug 19th - Men's Senior Championship (for the over 50s) - sign up sheet at the Club, with a maximum of 28 entrants permitted.

3. Aug 25th - Medal - again sign up sheet available, I have grabbed 3 slots at 0918, where Colin will join me with one spare place going begging.

4. Pop Rees Shield - Mixed Foursomes on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August.

    had a couple of lessons. On the plus side I now know, what I was doing wrong. Unfortunately, however, my scores are getting worse.

    Wedding anniversary on saturday and mother with us for bank holiday . Golf unlikely this weekend
